World class, broadcast quality limiting is an essential requirement for any audio production, and the latest standards also demand true-peak compliance. ISL delivers both, giving you superb sound with complete confidence about meeting the standards.
"We use NUGEN Audio tools in every mix session across the board. They are fantastic to use and completely do the job."
Daniel Jones | Vaudeville Post
No need to second guess your sample-peak limiter time and again, or deliberately increase headroom to avoid a downstream problem. Just dial in your true-peak limit and let ISL take care of the rest.
Pristine quality true-peak limiting
ISL is a transparent look-ahead limiter designed to allow you to get on with creative audio production while it takes care of true-peak compliance for you.
ISL uses the standardised true-peak algorithms of ITU-R B.S. 1770 and related standards (including Apple ‘afclip’ true-peak detection), and is suitable for the control of audio for Post Production and Broadcast applications. True-peak limiting can also be used to ensure that down-stream Codecs (mp3, AAC etc.) do not introduce distortion into the signal.
Powerful Processing and Visualisations
With unique Steering and Ducking meters, ISL2 guides you to the perfect settings. Whether you are preserving directional integrity, atmospheric ambience or taming a surround centre channel, ISL2 gives you the information and control you need to achieve your objective with ease. New processing enhancements assess the incoming audio for frequency content and automatically take care of those minor adjustments required when LF content drives the limiter, delivering increased transparency whilst maintaining our renowned reputation of intuitive operation.
Power Compensated Dither options
As of version 2.7, ISL 2 now features a unique Power-compensated dither algorithm. If dither is engaged, ISL 2 automatically compensates for maximum power of the dither, ensuring true-peak level after dither has been applied which may not be the case when using traditional final stage dither algorithms. This safety feature maintains compliance criteria and codec protection automatically, meaning that audio does not need to be checked again after the dither process.
For Pro Tools HDX power users, ISL 2 DSP is available to take full advantage of Avid's HDX hardware.

Richard Addis | Halo Post
"After evaluating several products, we have outfitted all eight HALO mixing rooms with NUGEN Audio's Loudness Toolkit, consisting of the VisLM-H meter, LM-Correct quick-fix tool, and ISL true peak limiter. "
Georg Egloff | Film & TV Composer
"Great to have the ISL2. I use it on every mix."
Mix Magazine | Brandon Hickey
"What was really impressive, though, was that I could dig deep, reducing gain significantly, and still the plug-in stayed incredibly clean."
Gary Zacuto & Garrard Whatley | Shoreline Studios, CA
Gary & Garrard explain how the ISL True Peak Limiter is fundamental to successful content delivery in multiple formats for the worlds top game trailers, plus TV & film sound design.
